My new friend Aleeya had her birthday this week so Sam and I made another red velvet cake. I still did not manage to get a picture of the inside of it, though I had plenty of chances. Notice all the red splatters on the stuff around the bowl. It makes a mess. Also, if you are wondering about the man outside the window, he's the tiler working on the deck. It still hasn't gotten finished (even as I write this almost a week after I made the cake).
I bought scooters for the boys on Friday and we took off to the park for a ride. We went riding again on Sunday. Loads of fun!
Our tv remote fell off the couch last night and I couldn't fit my hand down between the couch and the wall to reach it. I left it unti this morning. Turns out that it is a really good thing that my hand couldn't fit. See the bright red on the back of that spider. It's a red back spider. A lovely venomous spider. See the cloudy looking thing in the track of the door, that's her eggs. I took a few pictures and showed her to the boys, but then I smashed her. I don't typically smash bugs in the house, but since she could kill my kids, she had to go first. Sad, but true. These spiders are very venomous, but rarely deadly to healthy adults. They are worst for the elderly and the young.
This is Australia's less venomous spider. It is a cousin to the black widow. Exciting stuff!
