Yesterday, we decided to go furniture shopping in the morning. We've done this off and on for the last week, but haven't bought much. (Earlier this week, we bought a fridge, a washer and a dryer from a used appliance store.) Basically, we're going around and seeing what's what. We found a whole street full of used furniture stores yesterday. We peeked in each of them and will return to three of them. While we have an allowance for furniture from NGC, we still have 5 bedrooms, a dining room, 2 living rooms and a deck to furnish. If we can find some bargins on some stuff, we will. Our allowance will also cover other things we need like a microwave, tv, bicycles, etc.
We also visited two factory outlets yesterday, one just for beds and mattresses and one called a homestarter store. We found some stuff that we like. Once we get our allowance, we'll start buying some more things.
We ate lunch at Subway around 1:30 and decided to just take a drive north for the afternoon. We went on a road that was labeled as scenic and we enjoyed the drive. The roads went through a very hilly area of farmland and it was very nice. We even got to see two camels, along with hundreds of cows, sheep and horses. The road ended in a large town called Taree. Taree is right on the Manning River. We took a walk along the river and played at two different playgrounds. We tend walked back to the car so I could get my purse before eating dinner. Only problem was my purse wasn't in the car! Oh crap, I left it at Subway in Newcastle which is about 170 km away from Taree. Jay looked up the phone number for the Subway and yes, they had my purse and would be open until 9:30. It was 5:30 now and we were needed to eat dinner. We found a place to eat, but they didn't open until 6. So we had a little wait, but then got to eat. Of course, we then had to drive. We would have driven most of the way to Newcastle before turning to go towards Nelson Bay. However, we then had to drive all the way down into Newcastle, get my purse and then head northeast to Nelson Bay. All in all, I added about an hour to our trip by leaving my purse behind. At least it wasn't stolen.
All in all, despite the purse, we had a pretty good day.
