A few things have come up lately in various conversations so I thought I would just share some random thoughts.
Scrapbooking- I am thoroughly and truly addicted to scrapbooking. If I go too long, say 2 weeks or more, without doing something crafty, I need to feel out of sorts. It is a great outlet for me. I love to use my craft ability to create something that helps me remember the feelings that I had the day I took the pictures. Now, that being said, there's more than one way to scrapbook. There was a discussion recently about the number of pages that people finished at the weekend crop. There are many different types and styles of scrapbooking and despite the opinions of some people, there's no reason to look down on how someone else shares their memories. To each her (or his) own. I honestly think that the finished product doesn't matter to anyone other than the person making it. If that person is happy and proud, GREAT! To me, it is just important to share the story or the feelings with the pictures.
LOST- I am completely obsessed with LOST. I have been since Sam was a baby and I started watching it. It was on at 10 and I nursed Sam around that time and would watch it. I own all 5 seasons on DVD and am currently rewatching each season. I am currently on disc 5 of season 3. I am worried that this obsession is getting a little out of hand. I watch an episode or two every night and it seems to have worked its way into my dreams. After last Tuesday's new episode from season 6, I actually dreamed that I am living an alternative reality and that my plane from Sydeny to LAX last spring actually crashed. Totally weird.
***By the way, I liked Sayid before he turned nasty, Locke much better before he became the smoke monster, and Sawyer with Kate rather than Juliet. I think that Jack and Juliet would have worked better. I would so rather be with Sawyer (even with all his flaws and his past) than with Jack, but then again, I am also on team Jacob when it comes to Twilight rather than team Edward.
Books- I just finished a cute little series by Molly Harper. I am not a romance novel reader, but these were recommended to me. The first book is called Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs. There are 3 in the series and remind me of a cross between the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich and the Twilight series. Very cute, very easy fluff read. And yes, there is some sex in them, but not as much as what I consider most romance novels to have.
I also just read two books that I wish I would have never purchased. I had a gift certificate from my Christmas so I bought a few books that I thought I would like. Ugh. Was I ever wrong. Rarely do I say that about books but geez. There is a series of books by Kathleen O'Neal Gear and W. Michael Gear. (People of the Wolf, People of the Earth, etc. etc.) I first read People of the Wolf when I was in junior high and enjoyed it. I have slowly worked my way through the entire series over the years since then. I really enjoy them and have reread many of them over and over. While at the book store, I noticed a series by Kathleen O'Neal Gear without her husband (I tend to read books that are parts of series.) I purchased the first two since that was all they have. There are three total. Holy cow. While the back of the book makes it sound very similar to her other books (the ones with her husband) these were nothing but smut. And it wasn't even well written. It jumped all over the place and nothing made any sense. One has to read the third book to finish the story, but I think I will just pass. I won't even look this one up at the library.
I too am crazy about LOST. I have had lost-like dreams before but never that obvious! Locke was always my favorite character until this season. I also like Sayid better earlier. I agree that Jack and Juliet were better and Sawyer and Kate were better. I hate Kate and Jack. I hate that Sun is barely a character anymore. I'm glad Claire's back and a bit more interesting. I like the Ben character although I think he's a true jerk. I liked Richard better when he was more mysterious and now I'm thinking he's not that cool after all. I wish it was Tuesday night so I could watch it. I could watch it every night!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm in the middle of Time Traveler's Wife. Like it?
